Ghibli: the power of Cinema / Ghibli: el poder del Cine

One of the most powerful tools of human communication is to move the other humans ... I think that from there the stories we tell become more accessible, universal and with enough power to change the world from person to person.

Many of us want a fairer world and as artists we review our wounds to heal ourselves and hopefully heal others, this may not be the claim, but it happens a lot through cinema ...

I think it was one of the days I enjoyed the most in my life. Akiko Majima, my friend from Tokyo studied at the same film school as me (EICTV - Cuba), we see each other practically every decade, but I always feel that we saw each other last night, neither time nor affection passes. She draws amazing, and works on animated films creating backgrounds, she got tickets from the Ghibli Museum for me and my friend Yoshifumi Nagasawa who also distributed my movie (Nikkei) in Japan. We had the best guide of all: Yoichiro Kugimiya, producer of Ghibli, he made the experience so enjoyable !!! with a lot of good humor.

The Ghibli Museum is one of the most beautiful places in the world (although you can't take pictures inside) ... and it is one of the best places in the world for what it represents: the talent of many artists at the order of a better world . Ghibli has created works where women are strong, they fight for themselves, for peace and for defending the planet while showing that we ourselves, humans are responsible for our destruction. The museum is made with love, there are many details in it, from the glass of the windows to the size of the doors and the height at which the objects are placed: so that a small child can enjoy.

The Museum has a movie theater where you can see short films and several galleries, one of them where with interactivity you play learning how animation is done with lzootrotpos, there are some machines with huge nuts that you can turn and make films in 35 roll and see some movie sequences being screened ... there are also miniature rooms with movie characters or Mr. Miyazaki. Another gallery shows you sketchs and the great artistic and technical process that takes a movie, in this case animation.

We went to dinner, at the table was a man waiting for Junji Yabuta, Ghibli photographer, then Kyoko Konishi, editor (it was his birthday) and finally Hiromasa Yonebayashi, director ... isn't it wonderful ?.

Yonebashi san asks me - What movies do you like about Ghibli? ...

And I answer - ALL ... - I name some and finally I say - Arriety ...

"Karigurashi no Arietti" or "Arriety and the world of the tiny ones" is a beautiful film, about the value of human relationships, about the value of nature, being free and owners of our destiny ... I love this story.

Yesterday was such an extraordinary day for me, my work and my way of life has consistently given me fruits, such as traveling and having friends like Akiko who gives me this type of these gifts: approaching creators that move and change the world.

Una de las herramientas más poderosas de comunicación humana es el conmover al otro... pienso que desde ahí las historias que contamos se hacen más accesibles, universales y con poder suficiente para cambiar el mundo de persona en persona.

Muchos queremos un mundo más justo y como artistas revisamos nuestras heridas para curarnos a nosotros mismos y con suerte sanar a otros, quizás no sea esta la pretensión, pero sucede mucho a través del cine...

Creo que fue uno de los días que más he disfrutado en mi vida. Akiko Majima, mi amiga de Tokyo estudio en la misma escuela de cine que yo (EICTV - Cuba), prácticamente nos vemos cada década, pero siempre siento que nos vimos la noche anterior, no pasa el tiempo ni el cariño. Ella dibuja increíble, y trabaja en películas de animación creando fondos, ella consiguió entradas del Museo de Ghibli para mi y mi amigo Yoshifumi Nagasawa quien tambien distribuyó mi película (Nikkei) en Japón. Tuvimos el mejor guía de todos: Yoichiro Kugimiya, productor de Ghibli, él hizo que la experiencia la disfrutaramos tanto!!! con muchisimo buen humor.

El Museo de Ghibli es uno de los lugares más hermosos del mundo (solo sufres por no tomar fotos dentro)... y es uno de los mejores lugares del mundo por lo que representa: el talento de muchos artistas a la orden de un mundo mejor. Ghibli ha creado obras donde las mujeres son fuertes, luchan por si mismas, por la paz y por defender al planeta sin dejar de mostrar que nosotros mismos, los humanos somos los responsables de nuestra destrucción. El museo esta hecho con amor, hay muchos detalles en él, desde los vidrios de las ventanas a el tamaño de las puertas y la altura en que están colocados los objetos: para que un niño pequeño pueda disfrutar.

El Museo tiene una sala de cine donde puedes ver cortometrtajes y varias galerias, una de ellas donde con interactividad juegas aprendiendo como se hace la animación con lzootrotpos, hay unas maquinas con enormes tuercas que peudes girar y hacer que películas en 35 rueden y ver algunas secuencias de películas proyectándose... tambien hay habitaciones en miniatura con personajes de películas o el Señor Miyazaki. Otra galeria te muetra sketchs y el gran proceso artistico y técnico que lleva una películas, en este caso de animación.

Fuimos a cenar, en la mesa estaba un hombre esperando Junji Yabuta, fotógrafo de Ghibli, luego llego Kyoko Konishi, editora (era su cumpleaños) y finalmente Hiromasa Yonebayashi, director... ¿no es maravilloso?.

Yonebashi san me pregunta - ¿Que películas te gustan de Ghibli?...

Y yo le respondo - TODAS... - le nombro algunas y finalmente le digo - Arriety...

"Karigurashi no Arietti" ó "Arriety y el mundo de los diminutos" es una película preciosa, sobre el valor de las relaciones humanas, sobre el valor de la naturaleza, ser libre y dueños de nuestro destino... Amo esta historia.

Ayer fue un día tan extraordinario para mi, mi trabajo y mi manera de vivir me ha dado constantemente frutos, como viajar y tener amigas como Akiko que me da este tipo de estos regalos: acercarme a creadores que conmueven y cambian el mundo.
