Director's Note
"A Lucy" is a dramatic fiction short film with a strong influence from social cinema, which explores the tense rivalry between two young shepherd brothers in the Venezuelan Andes. Driven by the need to prove their worth to an authoritarian father and obtain a meager reward, they must protect their flock from the increasing threats of theft. The film exposes the consequences of a violent upbringing and the deep-rooted machista culture on the identity of adolescent boys, in a rural context marked by economic crisis and sheep theft.
