The extrordinary journey of Dragon
A film by Kaori Flores Yonekura, project in development stage
A documentary filmmaker has received from her family three old photo albums, in
they discover that her uncle-grandfather Yoshitomi and she share the same effect by registering reality.
She begins a thorough process of restoration, conservation and documentation of Yoshitomi's work: his life from the 30s to 1945, beginning when he was a soldier in the training camps at the foot of Mount Fuji in his confinement with the Japanese families in Ocumare del Tuy during World War II. How did we get to this? The photographic journey of Yoshitomi to America is a path that crosses several landscapes, in which the expansionist desire of the States makes migration one of the most important phenomena in the hearts of human beings.
